Niverville Youth Baseball

We provide the opportunity for children ages 5 to 18 to play baseball/softball at various levels of competition. Weather depending, the season starts with practices in April, games starting in May.  The league schedule concludes at the end of June with provincial championships in July (U18  Several teams enter tournaments during the season which occur on weekends in various locations such as Winnipeg, Brandon, Morden, Altona, Winkler and Fargo, N.D.

Please be aware that our program encompasses both Niverville and Ste. Agathe.  As our program expands, diamond availability is a primary concern.

Niverville has 6 diamonds and 2 batting cages. 4 of the diamonds are available for U11 and above.  The diamonds are located off Crown Valley Road at the South end of Niverville.  All 6 diamonds can be accessed via the same parking lot and then via a main sidewalk.  The 4 main diamonds are very close to each other.  They can be viewed via the Main Menu - "Links Baseball - Niverville Ball diamonds".

For 2025, Ste. Agathe diamonds will be used for games and practices.  Ste. Agathe redid one of the diamonds in 2024 and has plans to do the other diamond in 2025.  They also installed a batting cage. They can be viewed via "Main Menu - Links Baseball - Ste. Agathe Ball Diamonds"

Age categories:

Ages 5 - 7 (boys and girls). 7U (Rally Cap)  - The U7 Program is designed for fundamental skill development and fun.  The season goes for 8 weeks starting the 1st week of May (weather dependent).  The first 3 weeks are spent focusing on the fundamental skills and gradually progressing into mini games. 

Games/practices - Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.  

Baseball competes in the Carillon league  which has moved the start date to the middle of May. Note that the league does allow girls to play.  Baseball is not just a boys sport!  Girls are allowed to play one year down from their respective age category.

Ages 7 - 9          9U

Starting in 2022, Carillon Baseball Association is encouraging house leagues for 9U baseball. This means that the league will not arrange games between teams from different communities. The teams in Niverville will compete against each other or the team coach can contact other communities and arrange for exhibition games. There is no limit to the number of games the coach can arrange. As there are no formal league games, there will be flexibility for the teams to choose practice and game days that work for their team. However, typically there is one game and one practice per week.  There are also opportunities to attend Jamborees/tournaments on weekends. 

Games/practices - Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs

Ages 10 - 11     11U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week.

Game nights - Either Monday or Tuesdays

Practices - Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability. 

Ages 12 - 13     13U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week.

Game nights - Either Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.

Ages 14 - 15     15U - Typically practice twice a week with a game once a week.

Game nights - doubleheaders on Mondays with possible Saturday double headers.

Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.

Ages 16 - 18     18U -The 18U season will start in June and will go to mid-July.  Reason for this is to allow for the completion of the High School season before starting the community season. Game days will be once per week, with the possibility of twice per week if make up games are required.  

Game nights - Thursday with possible Saturday double headers.  

Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.

Girls Softball part of the South East Girls Softball league which starts the first week of May
Ages 7  - 9    9U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week. Game nights are Tuesday or Thursday.  Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.
Ages 10 - 11   11U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week. Game nights are Monday or Wednesday.  Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.
Ages 12 - 13  13U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week. Game nights are Tuesdays.  Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.
Ages 14 - 15  15U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week. Game nights are either Mondays or Wednesdays.  Practice night will vary with diamond and coach availability.
Ages 16 - 17  17U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week. Game nights and practice nights TBD.
Ages 18 - 19  19U - Typically practice once a week with a game once a week. Game nights and practice nights TBD.
